Terms & Conditions

General information

Our company name is MT Cashell & Sons Ltd, trading as Cashells and cashells.co.uk. For further information see the Our Story section of this website.

We’re committed to offering our customers the very best products and service, whether you shop with us in person or online. All our goods and services comply with the standards required by relevant legislation. When shopping with us online, a Contract of Sale is made at the time we accept your order, and that contract is under English and Welsh law, irrespective of where you are. By confirming your order on the website, you accept these terms and conditions.

1. Placing an order

1.1 To place an online order with us you must be aged 18 or over and have a valid credit or debit card in your name.

1.2 You can complete your order as a guest, but we recommend that you create an online account, as this will allow you to view your order history and make checking out quicker and easier. If you do choose to set up an account, you’ll be asked to create a password that’s unique to you. It’s your responsibility to make sure this password is only known only by you, to prevent any unauthorised use of your account.

1.3 Please also ensure that the details you provide are accurate and up to date as no liability will be accepted on our behalf for errors in information you’ve provided, for example, your delivery address, postcode, amounts ordered or instructions given.

1.4 If we suspect that your account is being used inappropriately, we reserve the right to close or suspend it pending any investigation we think is necessary.

1.5 We accept payment by Mastercard, Visa and Maestro. Payment is processed by our payment providers Worldpay or Paymentsense. We will debit the total cost of your order, including any delivery charges, at the time you place your order.

1.6 All online orders received will be confirmed by email from hello@cashells.co.uk. Payment will be confirmed in a second email from Worldpay or Paymentsense (depending on which provider you choose).

2.2 All website content is the copyright of MT Cashell & Sons Ltd (except where credited to someone else) and we reserve all rights.

2.3 From time to time we may sell products from third parties. We recognise all third-party brand names and their associated rights.

2.4 The exception to 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 would be the use of the content of our website for personal non-commercial use, such as placing an order, printing recipes or sharing links with family and friends, including through social media platforms.

3. Prices, descriptions and general liabilities

3.1 We reserve the right to change prices, products, offers and any other information on this website at any time without notice. During the current period of uncertainty, supply issues may occasionally mean we need to source products outside our usual suppliers.

3.2 All prices include VAT if applicable.

3.3 We take all practical care when describing our products and with our website content in general, but should any content be deemed inaccurate in any way then we do not accept any form of liability. This also includes any omissions.

3.4 Our product photography is illustrative only, and while it’s a good indication of the actual product, we cannot guarantee that the colours displayed on your device are accurate and the delivered product may differ slightly due to natural variation or according to seasonal availability.

3.5 No liability will be accepted for any unforeseeable or for any form of consequential loss.

3.6 For events beyond our control, such as third-party delivery problems etc, our liability will not exceed the value of the order placed.

3.7 From time to time, our website may include links to other websites. These links are provided for your reference only. We have no control over these websites or their contents and accept no responsibility for them. Our inclusion of such links does not imply any endorsement of the material on these websites and we accept no liability for them.

4. Special offers and promotional codes

4.1 We may occasionally offer a product at a discounted price. Any such offer will be subject to product availability.

4.2 We may also offer online promotional codes and these are also subject to product availability. Limits on usage, products and the time period for which they are valid will be clearly stated in the promotion.

4.3 Unless explicitly stated, promotional codes are for online use only and cannot be redeemed instore.

4.4 If you have problems applying a discount code, and have checked the usage limits and validity dates, we recommend that you refresh the web page. If that doesn’t work, please email admin@cashells.co.uk and we’ll be happy to help.

4.5 Any misuse or infringement of offers or promotional codes may result in your order being cancelled and your account being closed.

5. Delivery

5.1 Please see our Delivery page for full details of our local and nationwide (UK mainland) delivery services, including delivery days, minimum order values and costs.

5.2 When applicable, delivery costs are automatically added at the checkout. You will see the full price you will pay before placing your order.

5.3 From time to time, we may offer free delivery as part of a marketing campaign. Details of any such offer will be displayed on our website.

6. Click & Collect

6.1 We offer a free Click & Collect service, with collection from our shop (53 High Street, Crickhowell NP8 1BH) during the times listed in our opening hours at the foot of this page. Please see our Click & Collect  page for full details.

6.2 You must collect your order by closing time on the day you’ve selected. If you are delayed, please email or call us as soon as possible. You will not be entitled to any form of refund if you fail to collect your order within 24 hours of the booked collection date.

7. Non-delivery (Local and Nationwide)

7.1 If your order fails to arrive, please contact us by phone or email as soon as possible and within 24 hours of the delivery date, quoting your order number. We will immediately investigate and update you. If your order is not delivered on the date given in the website acknowledgement, and providing you supplied a correct and complete delivery address, we’ll resend your order or you’ll be entitled to a full refund.

8. Acceptable weight variation

8.1 Our online products are unit priced. When you place your order, it will be for a nominal weight of produce, at a specified price. Because all our meat and cheese are cut by hand, and fruit and vegetables naturally vary in size according to the variety in season, there may be some small variation above or below the weight you choose. It’s not practical for us to request additional payments, or to process small refunds, so we will ensure that this variation is never more than 10% greater or less than the nominal weight. Items delivered within 10% of the weight ordered shall be deemed complete.

9. Alterations and cancellations

9.1 We regret that due to the quick turnaround in processing fresh meat orders and other perishable goods, you cannot cancel or amend your order once it has been placed unless specifically agreed by us. If you need to make changes, please call us as soon as possible on 01873 810405 during our working hours. The cut off time for requesting any changes is 2pm on the Wednesday before your chosen Friday delivery date. Please note, we cannot amend or cancel your order once it’s been despatched.

10. Stock availability

10.1 Because of the seasonal nature and sometimes limited supply of some of our produce, it’s possible that from time to time we may be unable to fulfil some orders. If your order includes any items that are out of stock, we’ll let you know as soon as possible and offer an alternative product or cancellation at your discretion. In the event of us having to cancel, we’ll make an immediate and full refund of any monies paid.

11. Guarantee of satisfaction

11.1 If, for any reason you are dissatisfied with the quality of the produce you receive, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. All complaints will be dealt with promptly and we undertake to resolve all complaints within seven days. Your statutory rights are not affected. We regret that we are unable to accept returned goods or claims for goods ordered in error, due to their perishable nature.

11.2 All refunds or product replacements will be made entirely at our discretion. We reserve the right to re-charge for packaging and delivery costs.

12. Data protection

12.1 We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our customers and we take your privacy very seriously. We will take all practical care to ensure that your details are held securely. For full information on how we collect, store and handle your personal data please refer to our Privacy & Cookies Policy.
